The road takes you under the Golden Gate Bridge, by the north tower. As you pass under the bridge, you'll may see areas of construction and equipment. The Golden Gate Bridge is undergoing seismic retrofitting as a response to the devastating damage incurred on other roadways during the Loma Prieta earthquake.
As you ascend the hill, near the top you'll see an access point to the California Coastal Trail. The trail is a series of interconnected public trails along the California Coast.
