The Warming Hut is a cafe and shop on the approach to the Golden Gate Bridge from Crissy Field. It's a great place to grab a warm drink and a bite to eat on a chilly bay day -- or sit outside when the temperature permits.

Inside the Warming Hut you can purchase items as simple as bottled drinks or coffee, or enjoy sandwiches, salads and soups at tables indoors or out. (There are several tables inside the hut, and picnic tables outside).

The shop inside the Warming Hut sells park-related items (cards, t-shirts, maps, etc) as well as books on local Bay Area wildlife, trails, and history. The children's section carries books and nature-related gifts.

The Warming Hut is also accessible by car from several points within the Presidio -- see driving directions

The Warming Hut was closed temporarily at the beginning of 2007 due to a fire. It reopened in early December 2007.

At this point in the walk, you can:

  1. Continue up the California Coastal Trail to the Golden Gate Bridge (next photo)
  2. Proceed straight on the path toward Fort Point (an additional 1/4 to 1/2 mile)
  3. Turn around and make the round trip back to East Beach
