Contemporary Jewish Museum - San Francisco

Two years since breaking ground, the Contemporary Jewish Museum opened in a grand way on June 8, 2008. Mayor Newsom and Board of Trustees Chair Roselyne C. Swig performed the official ribbon cutting.

Architect Daniel Libeskind and Former Mayor Willie Brown were among those in attendance to celebrate the completion of the building -- and the adaptive reuse of the historic Jessie Street Power Substation (designed by Willis Polk).
