Submitting Photos to About San Francisco
I'm looking for visual perspectives from around the Bay Area -- with a rotating series of categories. Right now the topic is wide open (see below).Be sure to use the submission text at the bottom of this page when you submit your photograph.

We all know and love (right?) the iconic images of the city -- the San Francisco you can't miss, from the Transamerica Pyramid to Golden Gate sunsets.
What's your San Francisco? The bizarre San Francisco? The intimate San Francisco? It can be anything from a favorite taco truck to a hidden statue . . . a neon sign that's flickered for 30 years at the same spot . . . or something you take your visitors to see that guidebooks just don't cover.
You may also submit similar photos from around the San Francisco Bay Area.
Photo Description
Include a description of the place or object you've chosen. (Historical data may be added to the photo description, if applicable.)
You may submit more than one photo, but please attach each photo to separate a e-mail with the form text supplied below.
Image Specs & Sizes
- Image Format: JPEG
- Minimum Image Size: The longest dimension of the photo should be at least 500 pixels. (An image shot in 4:3 aspect ratio, for instance, would be 500x375 pixels)
- File Size: Preferred size is 1MB or smaller
- ** To reduce the file size, use the "Save for Web" functions in applications like Photoshop to retain good image quality while reducing the size of the file.
Photo Qualifications
Photos will be picked on both the choice of topic and on the aesthetics of the photograph. I will not be able to respond to every submission.
