Hyde Street Pier is home to a number of historic vessels, including the Balclutha, and the steam ferry boat Eureka. Visitors can purchase tickets to tour the ships. The Park Service also hosts special events and themed tours on board some of the vessels.
Hyde Street Pier was once part of Highway 101. Prior to the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge, the ferries departing from Hyde Pier constituted part of the Redwood Highway between San Francisco and Sausalito.
