At the bridge, you'll see a sign pointing to the Newark Slough trail straight ahead -- and to the Tidelands Trail, left and across the bridge.

Follow the bridge to the trail on the other side which ascends gradually and for a short distance to a rest area with benches.

The trail splits again with the southward path leading to the Harrier Spur Trail, and the north path continuing on the Tidelands Trail and back toward the visitor center, along the side of the hill.
