The Tidelands Trail now parallels the Bay on the right, and the Newark Slough on the left. During the levee maintenance and dredging activities, you'll see the accumulated mud at the side of the trail. Note: Try not to step in the mud accidentally while backing up for a wide angle shot. It's a bear to get the viscous muck off of your shoes.

Continue along the bay until you come to another wooden foot bridge on your left (next photo).
