Western Grebes
Western Grebes are water birds that winter on the Pacific Coast. Western Grebes are easy to confuse with the similar Clark's Grebes. Clark's Grebes have a brighter yellow bill.
See a photo of an Eared Grebe for comparison. The Eared Grebe and Horned Grebe (similar species) are much smaller than the Western and Clark's Grebes.
