San Francisco Birds: Shorebirds and Waterfowl
For nature lovers, the San Francisco Bay Area is a wildlife paradise. We're in the midst of the Pacific Flyway -- the north/south migration route extending from Alaska to Patagonia.
When autumn arrives, the Bay Area's marshlands fill up with a variety of migrating water birds and shorebirds, enjoying our rich estuarine habitat.
This photo gallery is a work-in-progress, expanding as images of various species are added.
