Scaup - Greater & Lesser
The Greater Scaup is a diving duck that migrates through the San Francisco Bay Area in the winter. The Greater Scaup is very similar to the Lesser Scaup (same coloration), so the two are generally distinguished by the bill and by the shape of the head. Greater Scaups eat crustaceous, snails, insects and aquatic plants.
