American White Pelican
Although not as commonly seen as Brown Pelicans, you will find American White Pelicans in areas around the Bay Area, including Las Gallinas Wildlife Ponds in San Rafael, Coyote Hills Regional Park, as well the Palo Alto Baylands and Sacramento Delta areas.
The White Pelican scoops for fish under the water's surface instead of diving for food like the Brown Pelican does.
