Wildcat Peak Trail From Summit

Facing west from the lookout, follow the trail that descends from the right of the Peace Grove view point. This is the Wildcat Peak trail which will take you back to your starting point on a gentle switchback through meadows and, in the spring, a bounty of wildflowers.

It's possible to ascend to Wildcat Peak using this particular trail. You access the Wildcat Peak trail from below, using the Sylvan Trail link you saw as you came up to Laurel Canyon Road at the start of the hike.

Return to Starting Point

At the bottom of Wildcat Peak you'll see trail markers giving you options to return to Laurel Canyon Road or trek down to Jewel Lake. Both options will eventually get you back to the Nature and Visitor Center, with Jewel Lake extending the trip a bit farther.

Nimitz Way to Wildcat Peak

For a less strenuous hike to Wildcat Peak, drive to Inspiration Point and use the paved Nimitz Way trail to make your way across the ridge toward Wildcat Peak.

See the photo on the next page for a view of the Nimitz Way trail.
