Nimitz Way Trail - Tilden Park - Berkeley

If you drive to Inspiration Point on Wildcat Canyon Road, you can access the paved Nimitz Way trail which will take you across the ridge in Tilden Park, toward Wildcat Peak.

See Inspiration Point with photo on this Tilden Park street map.

Nimitz Way is dedicated to Admiral Chester Nimitz of the US Navy -- Commander-in-Chief of the US Pacific Fleet in World War II. Nimitz died at his Treasure Island home (San Francisco Bay) in 1966.

This paved trail is a popular walking, running and mountain biking spot. As you meander along the ridge, you'll have pretty views to the west. And if you choose to continue on the path, you will eventually meet up with Wildcat Peak -- by way of a short trail offshoot to the left.

Nimitz Way will take you all the way to Wildcat Canyon Regional Park, with rolling hill, eucalyptus groves, roaming cattle, and a natural beauty all its own.
