Definition:

The Buena Vista is known for being the birth place of Irish Coffee in the United States. The first Irish Coffee was mixed at the Buena Vista in 1952 based on a recipe from Shannon Airport in Ireland.

Whether you're visiting San Francisco, new to town, or hosting out-of-town visitors, taking the Powell-Hyde cable car to the Buena Vista for its signature drink is one of those experiences everyone must do. At least once. Or, more often, depending on how much you like Irish Coffee.

See Jennifer Alpeche's profile of the Buena Vista Cafe for more history and information.
