Art & Soul Festival - Oakland, California

Oakland's annual Art and Soul celebrated its seventh year in 2007 -- a festival with a world-class line-up of performers across the musical spectrum.

For the three days of Labor Day Weekend, Art and Soul presents a city-wide festival in downtown Oakland, cordoning off the city's blocks for the stage setups, the vendors, and the family zone -- a large amusement area for kids.

For the single price of admission, you can sample everything from gospel and blues to alternative rock and zydeco -- all day long. Wander between the Art and Soul stages, check out the exhibits, enjoy some food and beverages (including beer and wine), and appreciate the fact that you can dispense with cars and parking and hassles. BART stops just a few blocks away, as do AC Transit buses.
