The Bottom Line
Foreign Cinema is among my favorite places to take out-of-town visitors. The walled patio with classic films screening in the background is a priceless setting thats hard to replicate elsewhere.
Pros
- Unique outdoor patio with film screen
- Good wine list and interesting menu
- Decent seating in the bar
Cons
- Patio can get full on warm nights
- No movie playing with early dinners (begins at sundown)

Guide Review - Foreign Cinema (Restaurant)
Foreign Cinema could die at concept and be done. But it thrives beyond what might appear to be a gimmick the movie screen. The restaurant is a classy venue with warm and vibrant ambiance indoors and out. And the bar actually has room to sit.
The bar has a diverse selection of wine in all price ranges, and also wine flights by the glass or half bottle. The menu changes with diverse flavor combinations, like halibut with chanterelles and roasted figs or beef carpaccio with fried capers and Manchego. Brunch is served on Saturdays and Sundays.
The movie runs at a low enough volume that you can still talk . . . and simultaneously grab the main plot points while you eat. Films have ranged from classics like Breakfast at Tiffanys to cult classics like Run Lola Run.
2007 - Prices, items and events are subject to change. Always check with venue directly for current information.
