Funston Avenue in the Presidio
Follow Funston back past Pershing Hall and across Moraga to see the Funston Avenue Victorian structures and officers' quarters.
Because the 1906 earthquake devastated so much of San Francisco, the Presidio -- removed from some of the fires and destruction -- has the oldest, intact Victorian street in the city. Funston Avenue was home to two dozen officers' quarters, built in various styles of the time: Queen Anne, Eastlake, Greek revival.
