Presidio Old Hospital
On your left at Funston and Lincoln (across Funston from the YMCA) you'll see the old Presidio Hospital with G.P.F. gun.
This G.P.F. gun was developed by the French and used by the Coast Artillery during World War II. The 155mm gun can fire a 95 projectile approximately ten miles. It sits in front of the old hospital building on the Presidio grounds.
At this same location during the holidays, you'll find the Presidio Holiday Tree, lit every year in an evening ceremony.
