Presidio Main Post Photos - San Francisco

The Presidio has a long history as a military installation. Its life as a national park began in the early 1990s when the military lowered its flag and the Presidio was handed to the National Park Service and the newly-formed Presidio Trust.

In addition to the many changes and habitat restoration projects already in place, the Presidio Trust has several plans for the future, such as the Lodge at the Main Post and the Walt Disney Family Museum.

All new projects undergo environmental assessment as well as public review.

A PDF map of the Presidio is available online. You'll also find maps at the Visitor Center inside the Main Post Officers' Club, and at Crissy Field Center.
