At Valencia Street and 15th, Hats has them in all sizes and styles, both locally made and big brands. Intersection for the Arts, 446 Valencia, supports resident artists and showcases edgy theater, literature, music and visual arts. Centro del Pueblo, a few doors down, has offices and space for community nonprofits such as the Mission Learning Center. Across the street, buy vintage wear by the pound at Clothes Contact.
Head south on Valencia to 16th Street. At the corner, turn right. Just one storefront from the intersection, Ti Couz made the city’s best crepes--until it closed in May 2011. Roxie Theater across the street screens arty and independent films. Back on Valencia, Five & Diamond at #510 stocks leather computer bags, gloves and other accessories, Bootleg pendants, bloomers and other hipster essentials.
