Giant Robot began as an indie zine, inspired by Asian comics, Manga, and Anime -- but also infused with a cross-section of pop culture.
A store followed in West LA and the San Francisco incarnation of Giant Robot wasn't too far behind. Giant Robot is a shop/gallery with rotating exhibits, and a small shop full of stationery, design and comic books, toys and other pop-culture-related wares.
