Hill 88 - Marin Headlands
Before you follow the Coastal Trail down to the beach, take a left up the hill and climb just a short way to Hill 88. It's worth the stop if you haven't been.
Hill 88, a former radar station, is one of the many historic military installations populating the Marin Headlands area. You'll see the artifacts, the abandoned and overgrown buildings. It's beautiful and eerie at the same time.
And -- as with all hills in the Headlands -- the bird and raptor sightings from the top can be spectacular.
