• North Beach Festival

  Outdoor arts and crafts celebration, with music stages, entertainment, celebrity chefs and exhibitions.

  The world's largest robot competition with more than 70 different events
• Another Hole in the Head (film festival)
  June 6 to June 22, 2008
  Two-week festival of fantasy, sci-fi and horror films. The Get Animated festival runs alongside, with innovative animation features.

Special Father's Day Cruises on the Bay

• Hornblower Holidays has several Father's Day cruises on June 15, including a Father's Day Beer Brunch Cruise and a Dinner Dance Cruise.

• For a day on the Bay with the Red and White Fleet, you can take Dad on one of their regular cruises on Sunday, including the San Francisco Explorer Cruise (offering a choice of three audio tours), and the Golden Gate Cruise

If you have younger children and would like to engage in a Father's Day activity with the family -- a number of museums and Bay Area venues are offering Father's Day events on Sunday, June 15, 2008.

• Wild Nights "Fantastic Fathers" Overnight
  San Francisco Zoo - June 14 to 15, 2008
  Goes from 6:00p on Saturday night (June 14) to 10:00a on Father's Day, Sunday morning. Your registration fee ($75 adults) includes camping under the stars, a nocturnal safari, a talk with a zoo keeper, and a continental breakfast. Pre-registration is required.

• Father's Day Bike About at the Zoo
  San Francisco Zoo - June 15, 2008
  On Sunday, the San Francisco Zoo also holds a Bike About from 8:30a to 10:00a. Pre-registration is required and the fee is $25 per peddler - children can piggy-backing on parents' bikes.

• Father's Day at SF MOMA
  San Francisco Museum of Modern Art - June 15, 2008
  Celebrate the many faces of Frida Kahlo - Spend the day (noon to 3p) in the SF MOMA family studio with music, performances, and hands-on art projects. Museum and program admission are free for families.

• USS Hornet Living Ship Day
  USS Hornet in Alameda - June 15, 2008
  Experience an aircraft carrier in action with simulated flight operations, interactive mission briefings, meetings with former crew, and a seat in the cockpit of a fighter jet.

• Stern Grove Free Concert
  Stern Grove - June 15, 2008
  Booker T Jones and Bettye Lavette are part of the summer concert series on Father's Day. Before the free performance, there's a KidStage (from 12p to 1p) with a different theme each time. On June 15 it's "Precita Eyes Muralists."

• Peter & the Pirate
  Pier 39 - Weekend Matinees at 11:30a and 1:00p
  Original musical for the whole family where children can sing and dance along with the cast
