Elsie Roemer Bird Sanctuary
At Crown Beach in Alameda, California
The protected bird sanctuary lies at the south eastern end of Crown Memorial Beach in Alameda. The evolution of Alameda began with oak woodland growing right up to the shores and with separated from Oakland by a slough -- to the present-day resurrection of the wetland areas and sanctuary where numerous bird species make their home and their migratory stops.
