The Bottom Line
*** CLOSED IN APRIL 2008 ***
Nua is a wine-bar addition to North Beach -- a place to try a different vintage, or a enjoy a full meal. The bar is small. It seats eight or so. It's still a hang for a glass of wine (or two) and an appetizer. You can always move to a restaurant table if the urge to linger overtakes.
March 2007

Guide Review - Nua Restaurant & Wine Bar - ** CLOSED 2008 **
Nua opened in March of 2007. We gave the wine bar a try in its fledgling weeks. With just days under its belt, Nua was a pleasant experience from start to finish. From the effusive and friendly greeting at the door, to the attentive bartender, we felt welcomed and nourished which is part of the reason for going out in the first place.
Wine Bar
The bar stools are few -- arranged around a small wine bar -- and could use a bit more cushioning. That said, it wont keep you from staying and enjoying a glass or bottle of wine and some small plates.
Food
Service was quick and the Mediterranean-inspired plates had excellent flavors. The prawns come with a garlic and chili sauce thats good enough to soak up with bread. Other menu items: piquillo stuffed peppers, PEI Mussles, crispy sardines, and grilled quail.
