This photo was taken in 2007, with the original establishments listed. Perk Presidio, the original coffee spot, is now a Starbucks.

From the Marina, a walk to the Presidio's Main Post takes you through the Lombard or Chestnut gates. This park area is at the Chestnut entrance to the Letterman Digital Arts complex, completed by George Lucas in 2005 and home to Lucasfilm's Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) and LucasArts.

The entire campus -- built on the grounds of the old Letterman Hospital -- is 23 acres. There are 17 acres of lush park and public open space. Six acres house low-rise office buildings. More than 1500 employees have a dining commons, fitness center, and childcare center, as well as a theater and screening rooms.

The Letterman Digital Arts complex was designed around sustainability, such as energy efficient elevators and reclaimed water for irrigation. Materials from the Letterman Hospital and parking lot were recycled for use in the new structures. Employee and visitor parking is underground to preserve open space above.
