The California State Parks Foundation organizes Earth Day restoration and clean-up programs throughout the state on Earth Day. Their website shows a map of all locations needing volunteer help this Saturday and sites do fill up quickly. It's an opportunity to learn more about habitat preservation through restoration projects like tree planting, tending to community gardens, restoring trails and wildlife habitats, and cleaning up beaches and park lands.
