Gingerbread Wishes at Lark Creek
We indulged a New England chowder craving this weekend at Yankee Pier and noticed that a bit of charity, in the form of a gingerbread cookie, was on the menu this month. It's the Lark Creek Restaurant Group's second annual Gingerbread Wishes event, where 100 percent of the proceeds from every gingerbread cookie dessert benefits the Greater Bay Area Make-a-Wish Foundation. The $10 cookies come to the table unadorned. Customers can decorate them with abandon -- well, within the artistic license of frosting, colored sugar, sprinkles and gum drops, depending on the venue.
The Make-a-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions -- and makes 12,000 wishes come true each year.
Gingerbread Wishes happens through November at these restaurants:
- One Market Restaurant (San Francisco)
- LarkCreekSteak (San Francisco)
- The Lark Creek Inn (Larkspur)
- Yankee Pier (Larkspur, Lafayette, Santana Row, SFO)
