First 2008 Votes in at Dixville Notch

Monday November 3, 2008
I just watched MSNBC report the first voting results in Dixville Notch, New Hampshire -- with all ballots cast together at midnight. Of 21 votes cast, Barack Obama got 15 -- John McCain got 6. The result was greeted with cheers (and just one sneer, as far as I could see).

Kim Knox Beckius (About.com:New England Travel) wrote about Dixville Notch during a previous voting cycle, with a bit of history about the town's role in U.S. elections.
