The Hula Show 2008

This weekend, the Palace of Fine Arts hosts the annual, autumn hula production from San Francisco dance company Na Lei Hulu I Ka Wekiu.

Na Lei Hulu I Ka Wekiu blends history with modernity in its colorful and theatrical hula performances. The group describes this year's show as: "The ancient navigator Māui ensnaring the sun -- a flower factory explodes in color, Hawaii's Songbird weaves a musical spell, and hula meets Hare Krishna."

Performances:

Oct 11 at 8p, Oct 12 at 4p, Oct 17 at 8p, Oct 18 at 8p, Oct 19 at 12p (one hour, kid-friendly show), Oct 19 at 3p.
