The Gavin Newsom Show Airs on Green 960AM

Around the time San Francisco stopped using city funds to buy bottled water, Mayor Newsom was on the air, doing a blind taste test at the behest of the radio hosts. They asked him to determine which glass of water came from San Francisco's acclaimed Hetch Hetchy source.

In a cruel (but comedic) twist of palate, the least tasty water turned out to be the city's tap water. But, it made for good radio. And probably sold a few carbon-block filters.

Moving on to other topics (which may or may not include bottled water) the Mayor launches his Green 960 radio show this weekend with first guest Arianna Huffington of The Huffington Post and other progressive persuasions. Press from the show says "this is Gavin Newsom, on his own, no rules, his passions and his interests."

The show's first episode airs on Saturday, June 14, 2008. The time is 12 noon. The number on the dial is 960AM.
