New Food: Anchor and Hope Fish House

Friday April 25, 2008
Anchor and Hope Restaurant in San Francisco opened this week in SoMa

You know the tired adage about never being rich enough or thin enough. Well, in my world view, you can never have enough seafood and chowder joints.

So, along comes Anchor and Hope, the much-anticipated fish house tucked inside a bit of history at 83 Minna.

Open just a few days at the time of this writing, we really should give the place some time to breathe before we utter its name in print. It's only fair. As first tastes go, however, our evening at Anchor and Hope was beautiful, tasty and friendly from start to finish -- the place buzzing with opening week enthusiasm.

This Anchor and Hope briefing will give you an idea of what to expect when you venture toward this new South of Market venue.
