SwapSF Book Swap - Saturday, July 21

Thursday July 19, 2007
Someday, I'll have to face the fact that I will never crack Thomas Pynchon's Mason & Dixon . . . and that there are plenty of literate souls, more adept than I, who might appreciate it if I hauled my pristine copy down to the SwapSF Book Swap for someone else to dog ear.

Well, this weekend we all have another chance to send our cherished volumes off (with love) to fellow book lovers who will be mingling at the Phritzery on Saturday.

Bring a bag of books (no magazines) and hand them off to the crew in exchange for a free drink/raffle ticket. Books that aren't swapped are donated local schools and charities, including Friends of the Library -- which raises funds for Bay Area libraries.

Cost: If you bring books, you'll get in for just $5. No books? Pay a bit more ($10) to enjoy the social scene and look for your next reading material.

  • The Phritzery
    170 Clara Street (between 4th & 5th)
    Saturday, July 21 - 12:00p to 3:00p
    Beats by poolboy (4handed/Sol System)

Volunteers: Book Swap needs volunteers, so check the website if you're interested
Donations: If you have books to donate but can't make it on Saturday, call (415) 690-5198, to arrange for a pick-up.
