Hill's "Second Chance for Love" Tour . . .

Tuesday July 17, 2007
. . . at the San Francisco SPCA.

The goal is to save the lives of one million dogs and cats by the end of the year. The methodology is the Hill's Second Chance for Love Tour, stopping at the San Francisco SPCA to give a little encouragement toward that end.

On Saturday, July 21, the first 25 pet adoptions between the hours of 11a and 2p will be covered by Hill's. Hill's will pick up the adoption fee and provide a "new pet starter kit" to these owners.

If you've ever adopted an animal from a shelter, you know what a gratifying experience it can be to create a new life for a pet -- and for yourself, with an adored companion animal. The Humane Society of the United States estimates that between 6 and 8 million dogs and cats enter shelters each year, and 3 to 4 million are euthanized.

Events like this Second Chance Tour, offer people an opportunity to put a dent in those numbers. And our own San Francisco SPCA, where the adoption event will be held, has a long and esteemed history of working on behalf of our animal friends, on many fronts.

As part of the tour, all pet owners can submit pet adoption success stories, and be eligible to win a five-year supply of Hill's Science Diet pet food and an appearance in an advertising campaign. Your participation also entitles you to nominate a Hill's partner shelter for a $10,000 prize.

Get additional information about the event and contest at the Hill's Second Chance for Love Tour website.
